NSW: Hotel manager jailed for maximum 7 years over killing of 2
A hotel manager has been jailed for a maximum seven years for shooting dead a gay couple
he believed were making death threats against him over a fraud case.
A judge says the decision by 34-year-old GORDON SCURR to take the law into his own
hands was motivated by frustration in relation to police inactivity and the ineffectiveness
of their investigation.
A jury found SCURR not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter over the killing
of ALI HUSSEIN MOKDAD, aged 31, and his partner JAMES TREVOR CREIGHTON, also 31, on June
22, 1999.
